PPT TAGG Advocacy
by Francis G. Estrada
TAGG seeks to ensure that the property of all unit owners is managed in the best, most cost-effective way. To achieve this, it is essential that the PPTCC Board of Directors operates in a manner that is transparent, fair, accountable and complies with best standards of good governance.
TAGG sees its function as temporary – for the period it takes to establish a representative and fair governance regime at PPTCC. It is committed to promote PPT as a leading exponent of property management best practices in the Philippines and beyond.
To accomplish these objectives we are asking all Unit Owners to:
- Attend a meeting of unit owners, organized by TAGG on April 15, Thursday to discuss all issues related to Pacific Plaza Towers. The objective is to clarify whatever questions unit owners may have and establish a viable communication medium among all unit owners.
- Support TAGG’s efforts to press the current board to establish the Finance Committee which they promised to constitute to discuss the many unresolved issues raised at the March 6 meeting and subsequently call an Extrordinary Meeting of Unit Owners to consider the recommendations of the said Committee.
- Provide written notice to the del Rosario Group of your desire to cancel those proxies previously given to them, if applicable.
- Attend the subject Extra-Ordinary Meeting of Unit Owners and vote as you see fit. In the event you are unable to attend the Meeting, and you agree with the TAGG position, to assign your proxy to any member of the TAGG team with the instruction of voting in accordance with the TAGG position.
TAGG specifically seeks to:
1. Amend the by-laws of PPTCC to incorporate changes necessary for good corporate governance. These measures will include, among others:
- Establishing a fair and transparent nominations and election process at PPTCC.
- Defining the qualifications, terms of office of all directors (including term limits, if deemed appropriate).
- Defining the accountabilities of the board and management and the process by which they report to the unit owners.
- Identifying the minimum information/frequency of distribution that unit owners will be provided.
2. Conduct open and fair elections within a period not exceeding six (6) months from the replacement of the existing board.
3. Assist the freely elected board:
- Determine/advice the unit owners of the true operating and financial condition of PPTCC.
- Formulate and execute a Business and Financing Plan to deal with the imperatives of PPTCC.
